Bunions

Bunion deformities are the prominent bumps that can occur on both the inside and the outside of the foot.  They are caused by the malposition of the bones and joints the foot; thus causing the muscles and tendons to pull the bones out of the proper position.  Bunions can be very painful and limit mobility and activity.  Both non surgical and surgical treatment options are available to alleviate pain and allow return to a healthy lifestyle.

Pediatric Podiatry

From the beginning stages of life, our foot health is very important.  Many concerns such as in-toeing, out-toeing, bowed legs, sports injuries, flat feet, plantar's warts, and ingrown nails can be very concerning.  A prompt evaluation by a Podiatrist can put a parent's mind at ease.  Many conservative approaches can be used to have your child return quickly to their active lifestyle.

Heel Pain

One of the most common ailments preventing people from staying active is heel pain.  There are many reasons why heel pain occurs.  With diagnostic studies and proper treatment techniques, heel pain can be alleviated thus allowing a quicker return to an active lifestyle.

Contracted Toes

(Hammertoes)

The toes can be contracted or bent at different joints thus causing the toe itself to be crooked.   This is the result of poor alignment of the bones of the feet causing the small muscles and tendons to pull the toe joints out of position.  When this happens the joints can become painful and hard to fit into shoe gear.  Several approaches can be done to alleviate the pain of a hammertoe both non surgically and surgically.

Diabetic Foot Care

Having a good understanding of diabetes and how it affects our bodies is very important.  As Podiatrists, we understand the effects this disease has on the feet and how this can directly impact your activities of daily living.  Routine foot evaluation is very important to prevent the many detrimental effects that diabetes can cause.

Orthotics

Walking or running should not be painful.  Structural abnormalities in our feet can occur resulting in misalignment and can cause foot, ankle, knee, hip, and back pain.  Podiatrists evaluate the structure of the feet and perform a gait analysis to determine where the deformity is occurring.  Oftentimes, orthotics are prescribed to properly align the feet.  Healthy steps begin from the ground up.

Plantar Warts

Plantar warts can happen at any age and can be very difficult to treat.  Warts are caused by a virus and can spread especially among school age children.  Once they occur on the feet, they can also spread  and form multiple other lesions affecting the opposite foot.  Many treatment options are available including topical antiviral medication, topical acid medication, laser treatment, which can be done in the office chair-side, and Saorsa SWIFT
